Description
The purpose of this notice of funding opportunity (NOFO) is to support the development of neuromodulatory devices with behavioral treatment component as a treatment for Stimulant Use Disorder (StUD). Given the high rates of relapse and poor treatment outcomes in StUD, the objective is to target patients with vulnerable phenotype including those with reported qualitatively high levels of impulsivity, compulsivity, and cognitive dysfunction. Moreover, this NOFO concentrates on advancing treatment modalities combinations: pairing non-invasive neuromodulation (including, but not limited to transcranial magnetic stimulation, transcranial direct current stimulation, vagal stimulation, alternating current stimulation, low-intensity focused ultrasound, and others) with either known efficacious behavioral interventions (e.g., contingency management, cognitive behavioral therapy) or novel treatments.
