Presentation formats

The following formats are available. Proposals will be evaluated based on specific criteria, including relevance to workplace mental health, the quality of the content, potential impact on attendees, and presenters' expertise.

  • Concurrent session: 45-minute session focusing on a model program, evidence-based practice, or case study relating to workplace mental health. Sessions should include slides and be no longer than 35 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of audience Q&A.
  • Panel discussion: 60-minute session with 3-4 speakers that covers an aspect of workplace mental health from multiple perspectives. Moderated by a member of the conference planning committee. Audience questions are encouraged throughout. 
  • Fireside chat: 40-minute in-depth conversation about one topic with 1-2 speakers and a moderator. Includes opportunities for audience engagement. 

How to submit a proposal

Speaker expectations 

  • Availability during the conference: You'll present virtually during your assigned timeslot from your home, office, or other quiet location, using a personal device and a reliable internet connection.
  • Attend a planning meeting: You must attend a short planning meeting with a member of the conference planning team a few months before the conference to discuss your session.
  • Attend a practice session: You'll participate in a brief practice session with our technology team the week before the conference. This allows you to test your connection, camera, lighting, and microphone. 
  • Create accessible presentation decks: We aim to ensure your content is accessible to everyone. The use of digital accessibility best practices for presentation decks is encouraged. Using Microsoft PowerPoint is recommended due to its built-in accessibility checkers and features.
  • Educational, non-commercial content: Presentations should be free of commercial bias and may not include sales, marketing, or product promotion. 
  • Broad applicability: Your content should be designed for wide use across workplaces and industries. 
  • Your content will be shared with attendees: Your session will be recorded and shared with registered attendees after the conference, along with any presentation materials such as slides and related resources.
  • Free conference registration: You'll receive one complimentary conference registration and are encouraged to attend the full conference.
