Across the Ages: Supporting a Multi-generational Workforce

Today’s workforce includes up to five generations, each with unique views on mental health, stigma, leadership, and seeking help at work. This session explores how generational experiences shape expectations about psychological safety, benefits, boundaries, and workplace culture. Panelists from different generations will discuss how organizations can create inclusive, stigma-free environments that support mental health for all.

Concurrent session 1: The LEADS Pilot: A Five-step Roadmap for Employers to Prioritize Well-being

Take a closer look at the LEADS (Learn, Educate, Act, Deploy, Study) pilot program, a cornerstone of Michigan LEO's Healthy Work, Healthy Mind initiative. In this session, you will learn about the five-step framework, which helps employers make mental health a core business strategy. Instead of just exploring the results, we will walk through the development process from start to finish and share what was learned during the pilot phase. Join this session for practical insights on building a scalable model that prioritizes employee mental health and well-being.

  • Sean Egan, JD, deputy director, Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity

Concurrent session 2: Strategically Reimagining Work for Every Brain

Today’s workforce is more cognitively, neurologically, and generationally diverse than ever before. Yet most workplaces remain designed around narrow assumptions about how people think, learn, communicate, and regulate emotions at work. This session challenges traditional approaches to work design and employee support, offering a strategic framework for creating neuroinclusive, human-centered workplaces. In this session, attendees will learn how to apply neuroinclusive principles to work design, leadership practices, and technology use in ways that support mental well-being. The session will reframe neuroinclusion not as a niche accommodation strategy, but as a core organizational capability that benefits all employees.
