Benefits of Clinical Trial Management Systems

Session description: Using clinical trial management software can reduce the administrative burden on the research team, enhance the participant experience, and increase research efficiency. This session will cover strategies to enhance study awareness, connection, and trust, best practices for explaining participation in research, features that improve participant retention, and how to leverage clinical trial management systems to provide participants with insightful health data and resources. The session is offered in collaboration with MyDataHelps.

About MCN

The Mobile Coordinator Network (MCN) is a discussion group that develops and shares resources to increase the efficiency, rigor and reproducibility of health studies utilizing mobile devices at the University of Michigan. MCN is open to U-M study coordinators working or planning health studies using mobile technologies. The network focuses on:

  • Best practices for remotely managed studies, enrolling and retaining study participants, ensuring the completion of study tasks, and communicating with participants.
  • Standardized template instructions for app download and use, device pairing, maximizing device effectiveness, remote data collection, and other standard technology needs.
  • Regulatory processes, including IRB, information assurance (IA), etc., as they relate to mobile technologies in research.
  • The effectiveness and use of study and data management platforms.
