Dayna LePlatte, M.D.
Dayna J. Le Platte, M.D. joined the University of Michigan Medical School faculty in July 2014. Throughout her life she has had a constant burning, an insatiable thirsting, and a passion to truly make a difference and now her drive continues as a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry. Since the beginning of her residency, she has been working in various areas clinical areas of Psychiatry. She has been a part of the rich history of the University of Michigan’s academic and clinical excellence. Dr. LePlatte has been providing care in various clinical areas including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient psychiatry, the community mental health system, and the emergency department. Lately, she has been primarily focused on providing outpatient care to children, adolescents, and adults. She joined the department’s Collaborative Care Learning Community and has been providing psychiatric consultation to family medicine doctors and pediatricians in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She is the Assistant Director of Medical Student Education for the Department of Psychiatry and spends a lot of time in clinic seeing patients and supervising the psychiatry residents and fellows. Dr. LePaltte has many interests but her main goal has been to bring the knowledge that we know about mental health from textbooks to the community. Also, to further develop and apply the science that we know to the civilization that is outside of our office doors. Hence, Dayna has also engaged in a few research projects related to early intervention at the family level. She is a member of multiple professional organizations and enjoys mentoring students and trainees.
