James Abelson, M.D., Ph.D., is a professor of Psychiatry and director emeritus of the Anxiety Disorders Program. His clinical interests include:
- Value of psychological and pharmacological treatments and the most effective ways to combine these approaches to help people suffering from anxiety
- Anxiety disorders (panic, obsessive-compulsive, social and specific phobias)
- General Adult psychiatry
- Psychotherapy, and pharmacotherapy
