Cortney Turner, Ph.D.
Cortney Turner, Ph.D., is an associate research scientist at the Michigan Neuroscience Institute. Her research has focused on the neurobiology of affective neuroscience with a main area of interest as neuromodulators of motivation and emotion, both positive and negative, primarily focused on the role of growth factors in the hippocampus. Specifically, she studies various members of the fibroblast growth factor (FGF) family, and how they modulate behavior and neuroplasticity. Her overall goal is to develop biomarkers and novel therapeutics for depression and anxiety.
