Did you know that 50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14 and 75% by age 24? Or, that 70% of youth in the juvenile justice system have a diagnosable mental health condition? How about the fact that suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among people aged 10-14 and the 3rd leading cause among those aged 15-24 in the U.S.?

Any way you look at these numbers, it is clear that our youth are in crisis. At this mini-symposium, "A Youth Mental Crisis: Surge After the Surge", three esteemed panelists, listed below, will address these sobering issues. After, the panelists will be joined by Michelle Kees, Ph.D., Faculty Lead, Outreach and Education, Eisenberg Family Depression Center for a live Q&A.
