Transitioning from Actiwatch Spectrums to Fitbits – One Lab’s Approach

In this session, Helen Burgess, Ph.D., will present her lab's approach to transitioning from Actiwatch Spectrums to Fitbits and discuss lessons learned. Philips/Respironics recently announced the discontinuation of their sale and service of the Actiwatch Spectrum, a research grade actiwatch widely used in sleep research. This change has forced many sleep researchers to choose a new device for data collection and analysis, and many sleep labs chose the Fitbit device as a replacement. In this presentation, Dr. Burgess and her team will demo the use of fitabase in the collection and analysis of wrist actigraphy using the Fitbit Charge 5 device.
