Ewa Czyz, Ph.D., is a research assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School. She received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Michigan in 2015 and an M.A. in counseling psychology from Northwestern University in 2007. Dr. Czyz’s research interests focus on questions of how we can best identify and intervene with adolescents and young adults seen in psychiatric settings who are at risk for suicidal behavior. She is especially interested in studying measurement approaches that can potentially detect dynamic changes in risk in addition to the development of individualized interventions for at-risk youth. Dr. Czyz received funding from the National Institute of Mental Health to conduct a Sequential, Multiple Assignment, Randomized Trial (SMART) pilot with teens at risk for suicide (ages 13-17).
