Aidan Wright, Ph.D.

Aidan G.C. Wright, Ph.D., is a professor of psychology and the Phil F. Jenkins Research Professor of Depression. He received his Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the Pennsylvania State University after completing a clinical internship at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He started at the University of Michigan in 2023.

Dr. Wright’s program of research focuses on the relationship between personality and psychopathology, with a particular emphasis on quantitative modeling of psychopathology, social/interpersonal processes and mental illness, and studying individuals in the natural settings of their daily life using ambulatory assessment (e.g., smartphone surveys and sensors). His work has been recognized by early career awards from the American Psychological Association, the Society for Research in Psychopathology, and the North American Society for the Study of Personality Disorders, among others. Dr. Wright is a founding member and currently sits on the executive committee of the Hierarchical Taxonomy of Psychopathology Consortium. He serves as editor of the Journal of Psychopathology and Clinical Science (formerly Journal of Abnormal Psychology).
