Psychology

Ada Eban-Rothschild, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the department of Psychology in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. Dr. Eban-Rothschild's research interest include sleep and arousal, specifically looking to uncover the neuronal circuitry of sleep-wake states and sleep-preparatory behaviors, and to delineate the mechanisms involved in pathological alterations in these circuits. As the director of the Neuronal Mechanisms of Sleep and Wakefulness Lab, Dr. Eban-Rothschild and lab members combine innovative techniques to record and manipulate neuronal circuits in rodents, including in-vivo calcium imaging using a head-mounted miniature microscope, fiber-photometry, optogenetics, chemogenetics, and circuit tracing with ethologically-relevant behavioral manipulations.
