The UK Biobank is a large-scale, biomedical database containing detailed genetic and health information from over 500,000 UK residents, with the goal of accelerating research discoveries and improving public health. The Biobank contains data on a large span of serious and life-threatening illnesses and medical conditions. Data collection is ongoing, dating back to 2006. Initial enrollment took place from 2006-2010; participants will be followed for 30 years. Participants were aged 40-69 at the time of initial enrollment.
Study design: Longitudinal cohort design
