Lora Cope, Ph.D.

Lora Cope, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the department of Psychiatry. Her research focuses on understanding individual differences in risk for substance misuse in adolescents and emerging adults, using functional neuroimaging and novel behavioral techniques. In particular, Dr. Cope is interested in how reward- and cue-processing impact substance use risk. She received her Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico and joined the University of Michigan as a postdoctoral fellow in 2013 before joining the faculty in 2017.
