Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation Awards U-M Neuropsychologist Grant to Study the Psychological Effects of Bone Marrow Transplant Jul 7, 2015 ANN ARBOR - Kristen L. Votruba, Ph.D., a Board Certified Clinical Neuropsychologist with the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry was recently awarded a grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation to study the psychological effects of patients going through bone marrow transplant (i.e. Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation, or HCT). The award covers nearly $100,000 over 24 months. [caption id="attachment_2079" align="alignright" width="300"]Results of the study will be made available upon study completion in 2017. Dr. Vortuba's co-investigators will include Sung Choi, M.D., Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Communicable Diseases; Bruno Giordani, Ph.D., Professor of Psychiatry; Flora Hoodin, Ph.D., Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry; and Attaphol Pawarode, M.D., Clinical Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine.
