Brian Stork, M.D.

Assistant Professor
U-M Primary Appointment
I m a general urologist in Muskegon, Michigan. After nearly fifteen years in private practice, I recently joined Michigan Medicine West Shore Urology as an Assistant Clinical Professor. I am also a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and serve on the Board of the Michigan State Medical Society. I practice general urology, however, I have a special interest in treating urinary stone disease, benign prostatic hyperplasia, incontinence, benign and malignant conditions of the kidney, prostate cancer and the effects of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on patient and physician behavioral health. Being on staff at two great Michigan institutions gives me the added opportunity to participate in medical student and resident teaching, clinical research, and community service. The current focus of my research is the relationship between trauma during childhood and the development of behavioral health problems and chronic disease. My community service centers around Step Up, a non- profit, faith based program that helps children in foster care transition into adulthood. A couple of years ago, I joined with colleagues from around the world to start the International Urology Journal Club on Twitter (#Urojc). I am now honored to serve on the American Urological Association Social Media Work Group and the Urology Care Foundation Publications and Technology Committee. I also serve on the Clinical Practice Board of the Urology Times. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, beekeeping, spending time in the great Michigan outdoors and writing. I write on a variety of different topics, for a wide variety of publications, and have even authored a book for children. I recently had my first original publication on ACEs and physicians accepted for publication in the Permanente Journal
